Award-winning photographer and safari guide Jamie Thom started his professional life as a mechanical engineer before turning to his passions for wildlife and photography. He took a post as a game ranger in the MalaMala Game reserve in South Africa where, armed with his camera, he was able to 'shoot' wildlife on a daily basis. His work was recognized by a string of awards, which culminated in him being named Wildlife Photographer of the Year. After leaving the game reserve he worked for both the National Geographic and Discovery TV channels producing wildlife documentaries. He is now a full-time professional photographer and runs exclusive safaris to his favorite destinations. His images have been widely published in magazines and books worldwide.
