The forget-me-not is personally special for Michael, as it is closely associated with his Armenian culture as the symbol of remembering those we’ve lost in the past. The flower expresses a theme of undying love, while also meant to evoke the past, present, and future.
“There is something inspiring and sublime about forget-me-nots. The flower’s hues combine the stability of true blue with the passion of deep red. I see them as an emblem of faith and devotion, and as a symbol for those you love today, as well as those who will always live in your heart.“
Michael is highly inspired by his surroundings and often makes sculptures of objects that might otherwise be overlooked in the everyday. Nature is his biggest muse, as is the handmade process.
